Nationals of Australia, Bangladesh, Canada, Ethiopia, Mauritania, the United States of America and the United Kingdom must pay different fees for reasons of reciprocity. In these cases, the amount of the fee must be consulted with the Embassy.

Copy of the complete passport valid and in force. The passport must be valid for at least 1 year and have two blank pages. Passports issued more than 10 years ago will not be accepted.

Photograph. A recent photograph, passport size, 3x4 cm, in colour, with a light background, taken from the front, without dark glasses, reflections or clothing that hides the oval of the face.
Foreigner's Identity Number (NIE). If you do not have a NIE, you must apply for it at the Embassy by sending an email to: emb.bangkok.info@maec.
Certificate from the company stating:
Responsible declaration (from the company or the self-employed worker) stating the commitment to comply, prior to the start of the work or professional activity, with social security obligations.
Company's Register certificate (or equivalent body in the country) showing the date of incorporation of the company (must not be less than one year old) and the type of activity carried out.
For employees: proof of application for registration of the company with the Spanish Social Security and proof of the worker's affiliation to the Social Security.
Important: only some countries issue the aforementioned certificate of coverage for teleworkers. It is recommended that you consult the international agreements on Security:

Proof of sufficient financial resources, in the following amounts:
Criminal record certificate from the country or countries in which he/she has resided during the last two years. In addition, a declaration of no criminal record for the last 5 years must be submitted Click Here. Applicants of full criminal age must submit the original and a copy of the criminal record certificate issued by the country/countries of residence within the last 2 years. Certificates issued in Thailand, Cambodia, Myanmar and Laos must be legalised by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of those countries and then at the Spanish diplomatic representation in those countries.
Health insurance. Original and a copy of the certificate of public or private health insurance contracted with an insurance company authorised to operate in Spain. The insurance company must be registered in the list of insurance and reinsurance companies of the Directorate General of Insurance and Pension Funds of the Ministry of Industry, Trade and Tourism:

The insurance must cover all risks insured by the public health system in Spain.
It is not necessary to present the health insurance if coverage by the Spanish public health insurance system is proven. If an international Social Security agreement applies that allows the teleworker insured in another State to carry out his/her activity in Spain, instead of the health insurance, a certificate of entitlement to coverage issued by the competent institution of the State in whose Social Security system he/she is insured must be presented.
Original and a copy of the graduate or postgraduate degree from a university of recognized prestige, vocational training or business school of recognized prestige. Alternatively, documents attesting to a minimum of three years of professional experience in functions analogous to those of the position to be performed as an international teleworker. The experience must be comparable to the required qualification and relevant to the performance of the work or professional relationship at a distance that is authorized.
In order to exercise a regulated profession, the homologation of the qualification required for its exercise must be accredited.
If there are doubts about the equivalence of a vocational training degree in the Spanish educational system, the accreditation of the validation of the degree may be required before the competent educational authority.
A visa for teleworking may not be granted when the conditions of the application coincide with those of the visa for intra-company transfer.
Proof of residence in the consular district. Nationals and legal residents in this consular demarcation may submit their visa application. Legal residents must provide documentation proving their residence (residence permit or valid visa).
Proof of the identity and capacity of the representative. If the submission of the visa application through a representative is authorised, a copy of the representative's identity card or passport and the power of attorney or document proving representation shall be submitted. The originals shall be shown at the time of submission of the application.
Specific for international family members of the teleworker:
Documents proving the kinship relationship with the teleworker: birth or marriage certificates issued by the civil registry, certificate of registration as a domestic partner or any other document proving the relationship as an unregistered partner.
In the case of adult children, documents proving the economic dependence and marital status of the child.
In the case of ascendants, documents proving that they are dependent on the worker.

The visa application must be submitted in person by the person concerned, or by a parent or legal guardian if the person is a minor. It may also be submitted through a duly accredited representative.
The Embassy may ask the applicant to submit the missing documents, or to provide additional documents or data that are necessary to resolve the application. The applicant may also be called for a personal interview.
Decision deadline: The legal deadline for a decision is 10 days from the day following the date of submission of the application, but this deadline may be extended when additional documents or an interview is requested.
Withdrawal of the visa: The visa must be withdrawn in person by the applicant or his/her representative, without the need for an appointment, within a maximum of 1 month from the day following the date of notification of the favourable decision.
Refusal of a visa: where applicable, refusal of a visa shall always be notified in writing, stating the grounds on which the decision is based.
Appeals: If a visa is refused, the applicant may lodge an appeal for reconsideration with this Embassy post within one month of the day following the date on which he/she receives notification of the refusal. They may also lodge a contentious-administrative appeal with the High Court of Justice of Madrid within 2 months of the day following the date on which they receive notification of the refusal of the visa or of the rejection of the appeal for reconsideration.
Validity of the visa: The visa is valid for 1 year or the same validity as the residence authorisation granted, provided that this is less than one year.
The visa accredits residence in Spain during its validity, and it is not necessary to obtain a Foreigner's Identity Card. However, this card can be applied for at the Foreigners' Office or the corresponding Police Station.
