Nationals of Australia, Bangladesh, Canada, Ethiopia, Mauritania, the United States of America and the United Kingdom must pay different fees for reasons of reciprocity. In these cases, the amount of the fee must be consulted with the Embassy.

The applicant and his/her family members must apply for a NIE number prior to visa application. More information on how to apply for a NIE, send email to emb.bangkok.inf@maec.es.
1. Valid passport and copy of all pages. The passport must be valid for at least 1 year and must have two blank pages. Passports issued more than 10 years ago will not be accepted.
2. National visa application form. Each applicant, or his/her representative, shall complete in all sections and sign the visa application. Click Here.

4. Foreigner's Identity Number (NIE). If you do not have a NIE, you must apply for it at the Embassy by sending an email to: emb.bangkok.info@maec.

6. Company's Register certificate (or equivalent body in the country) showing the date of incorporation of the company (must not be less than one year old) and the type of activity carried out.
7. - Registration with the Spanish Social Security.
For employees: proof of application for registration of the company with the Spanish Social Security and proof of the worker's affiliation to the Social Security.
For self-employed workers: proof of application for registration to the RETA (Special Scheme for Self- Employed Workers).

The requirement to register with the Social Security may be replaced by importing the entitlement from the country of origin when there is an international Social Security agreement with Spain. In this case, the Social Security of the country of origin must issue a certificate of applicable legislation for teleworkers, based on said agreement, providing temporary coverage in Spain. This circumstance must be included in the responsible declaration.

8. - Proof of sufficient financial resources, in the following amounts:
Documentary proof of financial means. Financial means must be at least 200% of the monthly Spanish
national minimum wage (SMI) In the case of family members: For the first family member they must prove
additional financial means of at least 75% of the Spanish minimum wage. For each additional applicant,
25% of the Spanish national minimum wage is required. In 2025 the Monthly Spanish minimum wage is
1,184.00 Euros/month, 16,576.00/year.
In order to prove the above-mentioned resources, any means of proof are acceptable: work contract, bank certificate and statements of the last six months, payslips etc.
9. - Criminal record certificate. Applicants of legal age who apply for a visa must submit the original and a copy of the criminal record certificate(s) issued by his/her country or countries of residence for the past 2 years. This certificate cannot be older than 6 months, unless the certificate itself specifies a longer validity. Additionally, the applicant will submit a responsible declaration confirming the absence of criminal records for the last five years (see form section).
10. - Health insurance. Original and a copy of the certificate of public or private health insurance
contracted with an insurance company authorised to operate in Spain. The insurance company must be
registered in the list of insurance and reinsurance companies of the Directorate General of Insurance and
Pension Funds of the Ministry of Industry, Trade and Tourism:

The insurance must cover all risks insured by the public health system in Spain.
It is not necessary to present the health insurance if coverage by the Spanish public health insurance system is proven. If an international Social Security agreement applies that allows the teleworker insured in another State to carry out his/her activity in Spain, instead of the health insurance, a certificate of entitlement to coverage issued by the competent institution of the State in whose Social Security system he/she is insured must be presented:
11- Original and a copy of the graduate or postgraduate degree from a university of recognized prestige, vocational training or business school of recognized prestige. Alternatively, documents attesting to a minimum of three years of professional experience in functions analogous to those of the position to be performed as an international teleworker. The experience must be comparable to the required qualification and relevant to the performance of the work or professional relationship at a distance that is authorized.
In order to exercise a regulated profession, the homologation of the qualification required for its exercise must be accredited.
If there are doubts about the equivalence of a vocational training degree in the Spanish educational system, the accreditation of the validation of the degree may be required before the competent educational authority.
A visa for teleworking may not be granted when the conditions of the application coincide with those of the visa for intra-company transfer.
12. - Proof of residence in the consular district. Nationals and legal residents in Thailand, Myanmar, Cambodia and Laos, may submit their visa application. Legal residents must provide documentation proving their residence in the countries above (residence permit or valid visa).
13. - Proof of the identity and capacity of the representative. If the submission of the visa application through a representative is authorised, a copy of the representative's identity card or passport and the power of attorney or document proving representation shall be submitted. The original shall be shown at the time of submission of the application.
14.-Specific for international family members of the teleworker:
Documents proving family relationship with the worker: birth or marriage certificates issued by the civil
registry, certificate of registration as an unmarried couple or any other document proving that the
relationship is an unregistered partnership.
In the case of adult children, documents proving their financial dependence and civil status. Foreign documents must be legalized or apostilled and, when necessary, must be submitted together with an official translation into Spanish.

All foreign documents must be dully legalized/apostilled except official documents issued by a Member State of the European Union.

The translation made by a sworn translator in Spain don’t need to be legalized
A recent photograph, passport size, 3x4 cm, in colour, with a light background, taken from the front, without dark glasses, reflections or clothing that hides the oval of the face.
The visa application must be submitted in person by the person concerned, or by a parent or legal guardian if the person is a minor. It may also be submitted through a duly accredited representative.
The Embassy may ask the applicant to submit the missing documents, or to provide additional documents or data that are necessary to resolve the application. The applicant may also be called for a personal interview.
Decision deadline: The legal deadline for a decision is 10 days from the day following the date of submission of the application, but this deadline may be extended when additional documents or an interview is requested.
Withdrawal of the visa: The visa must be withdrawn in person by the applicant or his/her representative, without the need for an appointment, within a maximum of 1 month from the day following the date of notification of the favourable decision.
Refusal of a visa: where applicable, refusal of a visa shall always be notified in writing, stating the grounds on which the decision is based.
Appeals: If a visa is refused, the applicant may lodge an appeal for reconsideration with this Embassy post within one month of the day following the date on which he/she receives notification of the refusal. They may also lodge a contentious-administrative appeal with the High Court of Justice of Madrid within 2 months of the day following the date on which they receive notification of the refusal of the visa or of the rejection of the appeal for reconsideration.
Validity of the visa: The visa is valid for 1 year or the same validity as the residence authorisation granted, provided that this is less than one year.
The visa accredits residence in Spain during its validity, and it is not necessary to obtain a Foreigner's Identity Card. However, this card can be applied for at the Foreigners' Office or the corresponding Police Station.
